The Story
Across Deir el Qamar’s narrow cobblestone, stands Deir El Oumara, a 19th century palace built by Emir Bashir II where Ottoman and Florentine styles blend together in perfect harmony. After having served as an educational institution founded in 1908 by the Marist Brothers, it was turned in 2014 into a charming hotel, classified as historic by the Ministry of Tourism. Located a walk away from the main public square, this gem houses 18 rooms and suites as well as a contemporary Lebanese restaurant. Follow in the footsteps of the Emirs and enjoy a glorious epoch in the history of Lebanon!
